At the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2014), expect a major shift in focus and storylines compared with previous CES events. Based on Accenture’s research, six stories are especially worth watching: wearable technology, digital health, 3D printing, sensors, phablets and ultra HDTV. Anticipate less emphasis on tablets, smartphones and HDTVs than last year’s CES.
Why the shift? In a word: digital. Consumers are becoming more connected than ever to an increasing array of digital products, such as wearable technology, in addition to the traditional segments such as tablets, smartphones and HDTVs.
