It is anchored in our core values, our Code of Business Ethics and, ultimately, it is reflected in the actions of our people. From Skills to Succeed to our environmental stewardship, we work to make a sustainable difference in the long-term vibrancy and vitality of people and communities around the world.
Accenture is driving, through Corporate Citizenship, multiple global initiatives and we are unique in how we have incorporated our CSR work in our business model. Our programs are built on the principle that individual contributions, and not solely financial funding, have the largest impact and give the best results.
Since 2010, Accenture has established a global goal through Corporate Citizenship - Skills to Succeed. The mission for Skills to Succeed is that we will by 2015 equip 250.000 people around the world with the skills to get a job or build a business.
Within Corporate Citizenship Sweden we have a number of initiatives for our employees to engage themselves in;
Consulting work in developing countries
As an Accenture employee you have the opportunity to work as a consultant in developing countries all over the world. Accenture’s programs ADP (Accenture Development Partnerships) and VSO (Voluntary Services Overseas) are two separate opportunities that offer our consultants to work with leading international organizations across the globe.
Accenture’s employee programs does not fall under the category traditional voluntary work where we donate money and time, instead the objective is that our core competences within management consulting, IT and outsourcing will support the organizations work by offering skills that they lack of themselves.
ADP is a separate business unit within Accenture that specifically provides consulting services to Non-Profit organizations, NGO’s, foundations and donor organizations operating in the development sector, as well as governments and public services in developing countries, helping these organizations achieve their social and economic development goals. Accenture has, since 2004, executed over 350+ ADP-projects in more than 65 countries for more than 70 client organizations. In Sweden, close to 20 consultants have delivered ADP projects over the last years. Read about five exciting ADP projects delivered by Swedish consultants via the following ADP Sweden link.
Local projects
There are many examples of how we apply a social, ethical and environmental responsibility in Sweden. We have developed a new environment strategy, building on small changes with large impact. We are actively working in Sweden with a number of local organizations through a mutual knowledge exchange and traditional consultant assignments. As an employee within Accenture Sweden you have the opportunity to do a certain amount of voluntary work.
The interest of engage in voluntary work is big with Accenture Sweden employees. We have several initiatives ongoing, e.g. participating in the yearly event organized by Mattecentrum, an organization that offers high school students education and help with their mathematic studies. Other volunteering initiatives are e.g. Save the Children’s Förortssatsning-Tjejforum where female consultants meet with young women for inspiration, coaching and support.
Many employees are making large efforts within the different programs, but also those that does not have the possibility to commit in one of the programs, have a possibility to help in other ways. Within the area of Corporate Citizenship, Accenture has a partnership with Save the Children and Plan. The objective is to support the organizations in their work. Besides Accenture providing our competence to support the development of their work, we offer all employees an alternative to receiving a Christmas gift – donating the equivalent sum to Save the Children or Plan. The sum is then doubled by Accenture. These money has e.g. contributed to strengthen the work Save the Children is doing on Côte d’Ivoire to increase the possibilities for children to get an education, and the Plan Sweden project “Because I am a girl” in Egypt.
