The Korea operations were formally established in 1989 and focused on management and information technology consulting services. Accenture introduced Korea’s first change management practice in 1993, and also conducted the first process innovation and enterprise resource planning work in Korea in 1994.
On Jan. 1, 2001, the company changed its name to Accenture. The new name reinforced Accenture’s new positioning and reflected the organization’s further growth and broadened set of capabilities. We expanded our focus to meet the full range of any organization's needs -consulting, technology, and outsourcing - identifying new business and technology trends and developing solutions to help clients enter new markets, increase revenues in existing markets, improve operational performance and deliver their products and services more effectively and efficiently. In 2003, Accenture Technology Solutions was launched, followed by the Global Business Service Center in 2004.
Today Accenture in Korea is a management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company and has worked with the top 30 Korean companies in terms of revenue, spanning several industries. More than 14 of these companies are listed among Fortune’s 2009 Global 500 Companies.
