As the lead sponsor of the CNBC TV 18 India Business Leaders Awards 2008, Accenture India’s chairman and country managing director, Harsh Manglik, addressed the audience and spoke about the challenges of leadership in uncertain times, acknowledging the strong link between leadership and organisational success.
"Leadership requires courage and conviction and wisdom, but more importantly—great leaders also demonstrate empathy because they understand that they are only successful through others, and that the aspirations and trust of others provide the context for their leadership,” Mr. Manglik told the assembled ‘who’s who' of the Indian business and entertainment community. He continued, “As agents of change, leaders define the journey and the visionary goal."
The CNBC Indian Business Leaders Awards honour outstanding leaders who are deemed to have created and sustained entrepreneurial initiatives, developed best practices and carved out powerful businesses in the global economy.
On behalf of Accenture, Mr. Manglik presented two key awards during the ceremony:

- First Generation Entrepreneur of the Year to Atul Punj, Punj Llyod Group
