The conference, sponsored by the Revenue Commissioners and Accenture, examined ways of improving cooperation between customs authorities to crack down on illegal trade through the adoption of common policies and standardised customs procedures. Delegates heard how a combination of large-scale biometric solutions and integrated cross-border technologies can provide an opportunity for all customs and border authorities to increase security and create efficiencies while at the same time deliver significant cost savings.
