Companies are today facing a complex and fast-changing landscape. Consumer values are shifting and businesses need to work hard to win trust and build community support. At the same time resource constraints and environmental concerns put pressure on supply chains and profitability.
Faced with these challenges, there is a compelling need for innovation. Business needs to accelerate progress in order to meet the changing hopes, needs and aspirations of customers, while operating in a way that wider society deems acceptable, now and in future generations.
To accompany the report, Business in The Community has published the BITC Sustainable Business Toolkit that provides practical guidance on how companies can create and test new innovative ideas that deliver commercial, environmental and social benefit. The toolkit can be found here.
