Accenture supports The Smith Family in a number of ways through the donation of time, talent and money. Accenture currently donates AU$100,000 per annum to The Smith Family Tertiary Program, providing tertiary educational funding and support to the children of 52 disadvantaged families across Australia. Accenture is also currently involved in various pro bono projects, including the development of a CRM application for the charity.
Learning for Life—Scholarships and Program Support
The Learning for Life program assists disadvantaged Australian families to educate their children so that they will have more opportunities in the future, and in turn are better able to support themselves and their families. Since June 2003, Accenture and the Accenture Australia Foundation have been working with The Smith Family to provide support to the Learning for Life program, principally through funding scholarships for tertiary students.
Launch of STARS—Supporter Tracking and Reporting System
In 2005, The Smith Family embarked on a project to improve their relationships and contact with supporters by implementing a new Customer Relationship Management system. Through the Accenture Foundation, Accenture came on board to manage the project and to provide expertise in the areas of systems analysis and design, testing, training and communications, data conversions, technical architecture and deployment.
The new system was given the name STARS—Supporter Tracking and Reporting System. In addition to managing relationships with supporters, the system is a customer-centric information repository that allows The Smith Family to collate and analyse essential data relating to each category of supporter. This allows The Smith Family to gain insights from analysing past behaviour, to develop an understanding of likely future behaviour, and to ultimately respond to the real time needs of supporters. The system also processes supporter donations on a daily basis and processes yearly sponsorships of students.
The STARS went live on June 1, 2006, and manages relationships with 650,000 supporters and the sponsorship of 23,500 students through the Learning for Life program.
