The selection process is designed to be quick and straightforward. It starts with a 45-minute interview with a member of our Recruitment Team or a Manager from Consulting. The interviews will take place at our London offices. In exceptional circumstances, there is opportunity for a telephone interview. The questions we might ask you at this stage will cover career focus, interest in IT and business, and competency-based questions. In addition, a mini case study will test your logic and problem-solving skills.

If you pass the initial interview you will be invited to attend a half-day assessment at our London office. There will be an additional interview, plus two group exercises and a case study. The assessment is a chance for you to learn more about us and to meet some of the people who work here.

We’ll contact you shortly after the assessment to let you know if you’ve been successful.

Your initial interview will last approximately 45 minutes. The interviews are held at our London offices. In exceptional circumstances, there is the opportunity for a telephone interview. You will be interviewed either by a Graduate Recruiter or a Manager from within the business. The interview will focus mainly on the information contained in your application form. Your interviewer will want to find out more about you as a person, your life at university and your work experience. You will also be probed on your career ambitions and your interest in IT. In addition, a mini case study will test your logic and problem-solving skills.

Your interviewer will want you to provide recent examples of interpersonal skills such as communication and initiative. Also, we will want to be certain that you have researched your career options and can show your commitment to a career in business and IT.

It is at this stage you should make your interviewer know if you are interested in pursuing an interest in Strategy or Technology should you be successful in being offered a place in the Analyst Consulting Group. You’ll need to think about how you can demonstrate why you are suited to this workgroup, for example, you may have specific experience.

Accenture’s dress policy is business casual – tailored trousers or skirt, plus shirt with collar or smart top/blouse for women. So when you meet your interviewer, he or she may not be wearing a suit. However, if you prefer to wear a suit, feel free to do so. The main thing is to ensure that you are comfortable with what you are wearing and to create a good first impression.

How do I best prepare for my interview?

Strategy alignment candidates only

Congratulations on reaching the third round interview! You have done well to get this far and, if you succeed at this stage, you will be offered a place in within the Analyst Consulting Group aligned to Strategy.

The third round assessment consists of two interviews. One will be with a Strategy or SITE Manager from within the business, who will probe you in more detail about your career focus and motivation for applying to Strategy at Accenture. He or she will also answer any further questions you may have.

The second interview is focused on a case study. It assesses in greater depth your approach to problem-solving, how you structure your thoughts and how you communicate your points to the interviewer. We will be looking for evidence of your ability to think logically and laterally within and ‘around’ the problem, your capacity to prioritise and to suggest solutions and action plans where relevant. The case study interview is intensive and you will have to think on your feet.

If you are successful at the third round interview you will be offered a place within the Analyst Consulting Group aligned to Strategy. Here you will enjoy a broad range of project and client exposure to build up your consulting skills, as well as a Strategy or SITE Careers Counsellor and the chance to join Strategy or SITE projects when they are available.

We will be assessing a number of criteria throughout the session, including your problem-solving skills and initiative, as well as probing you a little more on your career focus and interest in strategy.

Overcoming any initial nerves and being confident on the day can make all the difference. It will inevitably have been a few weeks since your initial interview, so re-visit our web site and remind yourself who we are and what we do.

Think laterally and keep an open mind about all scenarios. Keep an eye on the time, make your notes brief and be enthusiastic and engaging throughout the day. It makes all the difference to your interviewer if you present yourself as a motivated person. This is your final chance to make a good impression. If you have questions, please ask them, but don’t feel obliged – they are not part of our assessment.

When will I hear?

We will inform you of the outcome of your interview by e-mail within 10 working days, so please ensure that we have your current e-mail address. We would be grateful if you would only contact us during this period if there is an urgent reason why you need to know the outcome earlier – for example, if you have to make a decision on another offer.
