Worldwide and US Systems Integration Services 2008 Vendor Shares: Top 10 Vendors for 2008, Doc # 219466, August 2009. This IDC study reviews the leading systems integrators in the United States and worldwide markets. It provides a top-10 listing of companies in each of these markets and briefly discusses their positioning and competitive outlook. The study reports that Accenture is the worldwide leader in systems integration services with 2008 revenue of $8.9 billion. IDC comments that Accenture grew aggressively during 2007 and continued the growth momentum in 2008 with a 12.5 percent growth rate. This is partly driven by the strong demand for its SAP and Oracle services, as well as information management services, as Accenture helps its clients achieve high performance by optimizing their infrastructure investments faster and more cost effectively. In the United States, Accenture moved up to the No. 2 spot from No. 3 due to its strong growth in the US market. According to IDC, the company’s clients turn to Accenture for help in outlining a road map for their future applications strategy and in building sustainable systems that will add business value. The IDC report states that companies have an increased focus on cost cutting and are taking on more application consolidation, rationalization and optimization type projects. This is driving growth for specialized projects particularly around service-oriented architecture, vertical-specific enterprise resource planning solutions, master data management , business intelligence and analytics.
