Accenture offers a wide range of industry-specific solutions that leverage the principles of service-oriented architecture (SOA) to help enable high performance. Our industry-specific solutions include:
- Alnova Banking Solutions: Our core banking and distribution system provides a modern, flexible and scalable solution for banking transactions. The Alnova Multichannel Technical Architecture (AMTA) is a standards-based open architecture that allows connecting any front-end to any Alnova back-end online and in real time. The use of the standard protocols provided by XML Web services in AMTA simplifies the integration of any business function to any existing front end, giving more flexibility to the financial institution and reducing time to market. Web services used in AMTA are based on the SOAP protocol and can be invoked by any external system.
- Accenture Claims Components: This helps property and casualty (P&C) insurers realize tangible gains, including reductions in claims leakage and the automation of 20 percent of claims tasks. Our component-based software which can be exposed via Web services, combined with diagnostic and transformational services, enables P&C insurers to improve claims effectiveness throughout the administration and management of the claims process, while delivering superior levels of customer service. Proven results include improvements of 3-5 percent to an insurer's combined ratio, up to 15 percent reduction in settlement costs, and 100 percent success rate with on-time, on-budget implementations. Accenture has teamed with eight of the world's largest general and P&C insurers to implement Claim Components, which support more than 8,000 claims handlers. This entire solution has been migrated to Microsoft's .NET platform which inherently supports Web services.
- Accenture Communications Solutions Web Services Showcase: To demonstrate the power of Web services in the Customer Relationship Management space, an Accenture team created several Web services that can be used to connect Siebel applications and Microsoft applications. This solution can:
- Improve sales force effectiveness by integrating Siebel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Extend sales capabilities to field technicians through integration with Microsoft MapPoint, the Office mapping and data visualization tool.
- Provide superior customer services through integration of Siebel with advanced instant messaging capabilities.
- Accenture Communications Solutions Hybrid Migration Solution: The Accenture Hybrid Migration Solution exposes existing C++ assets as Microsoft Web services to improve performance and flexibility and deliver high-performance outcomes at less cost.
- Accenture eGovernment Accelerator: Created by Accenture and Avanade, the Accenture eGovernment Accelerator helps government organizations transform themselves to operate more efficiently. It allows government agencies to quickly and efficiently move their business transactions online with no interruption to service. It provides the infrastructure to quickly deploy automated forms, saving design and development time as well as reducing data processing and administrative costs. It enables integration with host systems, legacy systems and open standards such as XML.
- Accenture Tax and Revenue Enterprise Solution: A next-generation revenue solution for governments. Built on the SAP NetWeaver platform, the new solution makes use of service-oriented architecture principles to provide a foundation for integrating business processes governed by multiple systems. It allows taxpayers to interact with revenue agencies more easily while revenue agency employees can access and process information more effectively.
- Interactive Messaging Service: IMS delivers real-time, interactive alerts to customers in their preferred media. IMS provides a reusable business and technical architecture, based on Web services, to automatically respond to "natural language" requests from customers in message media (e.g., AOL Instant Messenger). Finally, IMS provides reusable customer profiles enabling more effective customer communications.
- Field Force Enablement: Accenture, Microsoft and Avanade developed this hosted service that delivers real-time, Web-based applications to mobile devices of both office and field personnel.
