Emerging Applications in Mobile Solutions | | | | | | | Overview | |
Accenture's technology research and development centers envision and
research the business impact of technology in the near future, and apply
emerging technologies to create innovative business solutions for clients
today.
These solutions, described in detail in other sections of accenture.com,
include:
- The Bluetooth Mobile Service
Link demonstrates how a short-range communications device combined with
the Internet can create mobile commerce without airtime.
- With a hand-held device incorporating the
Accenture Location-Based
Services application, the user is not only able to identify a desired
location or service, but can also ask questions, retrieve answers or enter into
live conversation with relevant parties.
- Mobile
Decision Support is decision-support software that works through a
Java-enabled mobile phone or digital organizer.
- Pocket
Bargain Finder, another project developed by the Accenture Technology
Labs team, enables an intelligent agent to search online stores for the lowest
prices. It is redefining "consumer empowerment," while vividly demonstrating
how technology is changing the relationship between buyers and
sellers.
- Shopper's Eye
explores and demonstrates a new set of location specific services enabled by
location sensitive, wirelessly enabled PDAs and smart phones. As a shopper
travels about, his or her personal Shopper's Eye transmits messages to the
Shopper's Eye control center detailing the shopper's location, shopping goals,
preferences, and related purchase history. This information is then routed to
stores in the immediate vicinity. The stores receive this information, and
create a customized offer of bundled goods and services. Manufacturers of
competing goods are notified and may respond with incentives to the retailer to
include their products in the offer to the customer. Finally the offer is sent
back to the customer for consideration.
