Together, the four alliance organizations will provide a full range of computing diagnostics, solution design, development and integration services for manufacturers. The team's joint development work will help customers gain access to manufacturing automation technology that will work seamlessly in a plant environment and integrate with a wide collection of enterprise IT systems. Lack of integration between plant floor systems and ERP systems creates issues in scheduling and quality control, and make it difficult to respond to
incidents on the plant floor. Further, most businesses have numerous manufacturing systems across their plant network, creating a complex, expensive
and inefficient IT infrastructure.
Manufacturing Transformation leverages Accenture’s consulting, systems
integration and outsourcing offerings in combination with ABB’s offerings. ABB has created an integrated platform (The Aspect Integrator Platform) built on
Microsoft technology that is the basis for ABBs Industrial IT offering. Industrial IT links all of ABB’s software and hardware products into one
integrated, seamless system “from plant floor to boardroom.”
The Manufacturing Transformation solutions offered by Accenture, ABB, Intel and Microsoft will: - Increase quality of output.
- Increase a firm’s ability to determine and meet accurate
delivery dates.
- Optimize production processes.
- Reduce COGS.
- Meet FDA requirements for pharmaceuticals companies and
CG&S, thereby reducing cost of fines and adverse publicity.
- Reduce the cost of ownership of plant IT through outsourcing.
