Accenture Institute for Health & Public Service Value

How can health care organizations, as well as governments and other public service agencies, deliver better social, economic and health outcomes for the people they serve? That’s something we aim to answer every day in the research we do at the Institute.

 

Who We Are
The Accenture Institute for Health & Public Service Value is dedicated to promoting high performance in the health care sector and in public service delivery, policy-making and governance. Through research and development initiatives, the Institute aims to help health care and public service organizations deliver better social, economic and health outcomes for the people they serve.

 

Given the Institute’s growing focus on the health care sector, we have created a special research arm dedicated to this topic. Through our Accenture Innovation Center for Health (part of the Institute), we provide innovative resources and recommended actions for achieving high performance in the health care industry. The Center produces industry-leading white papers and hosts engaging client workshops and roundtable discussions. The Accenture Innovation Center for Health, combined with Accenture's deep health industry experience, offers exceptional reach, speed and flexibility to help clients achieve high performance.

 

Our Research
The Accenture Institute for Health & Public Service Value applies rigorous research to the problems challenging the health care sector and to the issues facing today's public service organizations. Following is an overview of our most recently published research:

From e-Government to e-Governance: Using technologies to strengthen relationships with citizens
This report explores the strategic intent driving government's use of new technologies. We identify 10 e-governance strategies that governments are adopting to strengthen the governance relationship and we provide examples of their implementation.

The Challenges to Government from the Multi-Polar World
In today’s rapidly changing global economy, the old “rules” are obsolete. In our latest report, we discuss the implications of the multi-polar world for public service organizations—exploring trends, explaining challenges and identifying opportunities to achieve high performance.

Accenture Citizen Experience Study
Polls routinely capture voters' opinions of individual politicians. Private-sector surveys often gauge customers' satisfaction with products and services. But until now, there was no single instrument to measure citizens' perceptions of government. We created the Accenture Citizen Experience Study to fill that void. The study measures the level of connection and engagement that citizens in 13 geographies feel with their governments. More specifically, we capture citizens’ perspectives on the importance of 16 government actions—and their opinions on how well government is currently performing each of those actions.

Leadership in Customer Service: Creating Shared Responsibility for Better Outcomes
For the past nine years, Accenture has been conducting leadership research to help public service organizations around the world serve citizens better. In our latest report, we identified a new imperative for governments to move beyond a focus on service transactions to develop a new kind of relationship with citizens. This relationship should foster deeper trust; improve relevance and transparency of government decision making; improve service design and delivery; and transform the relationship between public services and customers/citizens from one of dependency to one of shared responsibility.
