Interview with an Accenture Technology Solutions Employee
| Posted at Mar. 05, 2007 10:43 AM CST | | | | Chris Gould | | | Lynn Smith recently spoke with Imrana. She is an employee in our NE practice. Thank you both for your time. | | | What do information technology and standup comedy share in common? Just like a well defined project and a great punch line ….It's all in the Delivery | | | Meet Imrana, part of the Delivery Excellence Team with Accenture Technology Solutions. Imrana received an MIS Degree at Wayne State Detroit. Imrana’s IT career started in Web development and has moved into testing. She has been with us for about two years and is a conversion test lead on a project in the Big Apple. She is also a standup comedian! | | | Imrana has always been attracted to the performing arts. After seeing a Second City performance, Imrana was hooked, eventually she became part of the Second City troop in Detroit. Since relocating to NY, she has moved from improvisation to stand-up comedy. Although a full time employee, Imrana still manages to find the time to perform. She’s currently performing about four times a month. | | | Recently, Imrana performed at Caroline’s new Talent Showcase to a packed house. Everyone from senior executives, Accenture Technology Solutions friends and colleagues, to folks from the client site were there to cheer her on. Imrana is scheduled to perform again at Caroline’s New Talent Showcase on March 12 at 7:00 PM. | | | Imrana’s philosophy is work hard, play harder. This funny lady knows how to have fun. In addition to her responsibilities at work, Imrana still finds time to be involved with the Diversity team and the Great Place to Work team with ATS. | | | I recently got a chance to touch base with Imrana to ask her how she manages to maintain such a rigorous work life balance. In addition to day to day responsibilities at work, she stressed the need to “prioritize and make time for things that are important to you.” | | | At Accenture Technology Solutions, there are activities planned outside of work, such as movie nights and ball games … activities that help create a nice work/ life balance. There are a number of opportunities to get together with folks and just have a good time. | | | When asked if she would recommend Accenture Technology Solutions to others, Imrana’s enthusiasm resounded “Accenture Technology Solutions is an awesome workplace! The leadership makes an extra effort to get to know you by approaching you. It's really nice that they will acknowledge your efforts and can give you a pat on the back regardless of what project you are on. The intimidation level drops because the leadership builds a neutral comfort zone. There are so many options available to you, there is so much for you to explore. You can’t go wrong.” | | | | Comment on this post |

September 15, 2007 12:02 PM CST | very well written. Liked this sentence the best: "What do information technology and standup comedy share in common? Just like a well defined project and a great punch line ….It's all in the Delivery"
Very very aptly put.

March 06, 2007 01:18 AM CST | Thanks for the article! Coming into a position at Accenture in Vancouver after finishing 4 years of contemporary circus performance in Europe, I can definetly identify with the struggles of maintaining a work/life balance. |
