Core Values
| Posted at Dec. 22, 2006 01:29 PM CST | | | | Chris Gould | | | Hi - I hope everyone has a safe and relaxing holiday season. I will probably take next week off, but have something again in January. | | | Prasad brought up Accenture Core Values in a comment (I will address the rest below) and asked what makes our core values different from others? I really don't want to turn this into a commercial, but the thought intrigued me. | | | I don’t know enough about other companies to compare/contrast, but I can speak to ours. Our core values are: | | | • Stewardship | | | • Best People | | | • Client Value Creation | | | • One Global Network | | | • Respect for the Individual | | | • Integrity | | | Accenture’s core values are summed up simply: “Actions speak louder than words.” I can talk about one of our core values, in this post: Stewardship. Every week I am awed by how Accenture folks demonstrate Stewardship. One of the components of stewardship is "seeking opportunities to improve the way the world works and lives.” We have folks doing things out there in the global and local community that are nothing short of inspiring. | | | Folks like Amy in Pittsburgh who was named one of the "Fabulous 50" for multiple sclerosis fundraising efforts; Windy in Washington D.C. who was named Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s “Woman of the Year”; or Linda in Chicago who founded Sun Rise Links, a group which caters to the needs of individuals confined to nursing facilities. | | | These are just a few examples of the people of Accenture. If you want an environment where inspiration is plentiful chances are you'll have to look no further than the guy/gal sitting next to you. | | | Comments | | | Nicole –All of our postings are listed on Accenture’s career page. www.accenture.com/careers | | | Darrell –We do not have a formal shadowing program, but part of our interview process allows you to speak in depth with folks who hold/have held a similar role. They will be more than happy to share their experiences with you and answer any questions. | | | Prasad - Thank you for the suggestion. I hope I started to answer your question above. | | | Ryan – every applicant’s credentials are evaluated against the role for which they apply. Depending on your experience you may be an excellent fit for this role (or possibly another). The recruiter will evaluate that and then let you know where they feel the best fit would be and then let you explore that option. | | | | Comment on this post |

January 10, 2007 11:45 PM CST | I have not worked for Accenture but have been very impressed with what I have read about their value driven culture. I compare Accenture to my experiences in the United States Air Force.
The Air Force's core values are:
- Integrity First
- Service Before Self
- Excellence in All We Do
In the same way Accenture values integrity, service driven employees, and always striving for excellence.
Accenture values execution of strategy. All Air Force personnel are taught to think strategically from its lowest ranking Airman to its highest ranking Officers
Accenture thinks long term. The Air Force lives and breaths their planning for short term and long term strategic execution.
Accenture values innovation. Our Airman are taught to think, solve problems independently, arriving at their own solutions to problems, not simply following orders.
There is a quote from the Accenture video, “Courage to face undaunting challenges." In military, courage is required to perform your job in stressful, sometimes hostile environments including war zones.
Accenture values those who are driven. Most military personnel are driven by an innate desire to service their country.
Accenture values leadership. In the Air Force, leadership is taught at all levels from the lowest ranking airman to general officers.
Accentrure publicizes that its employees have endless potential if they are willing to work, innovate, and push boundaries. The Air Force has very similar retention values and looks to retain Airman with these same qualities.
It always amazes me how some times people have false perceptions and stereotypes about the military that we are so very different. From what I’ve read, Accenture has a lot of the cultural and core values that I have enjoyed over the years in my Air Force Career.
If get the opportunity, I will definitely consider Accenture as a future employer. |

January 03, 2007 03:43 PM CST | Hi Chris,
My name is Christine Leonchik and I am a recrutier/consultant (just like yourself) for 33 Personnel Center and was wondering how I am able to get in contact with you to discuss hiring needs for Accenture. I heard there is a Vendor List that I would need to get on and I was wondering what I need to do to get on this list. Also, would like to discuss Accenture in general. |
