At Accenture, our business is built on ideas. Our people need access to the latest ideas, innovation and insight to create solutions that enable our clients to out-think and out-execute the competition—and ultimately achieve and sustain high performance. We make significant investments each year in research and development to help stay relevant to our clients and the marketplace. By tapping into the innovative work of our client teams—and leveraging the thought leadership and research coming out of our internal think tanks—we bring to our clients the best and boldest business thinking from across our global organization. At the Accenture Institute for High Performance—one of our R&D “think-and-act tanks”—our global team of researchers identifies and analyzes the trends, risks and opportunities that can affect our clients’ businesses over the next three years. Our researchers view themselves as “pragmatic visionaries” who partner with Accenture leaders from our consulting, technology and outsourcing groups to apply new thinking to our clients’ most challenging business problems. To broaden their perspectives, our researchers also collaborate and network with leading academic institutions such as INSEAD, MIT and the Wharton School of Business. In fact, I recently had the pleasure of participating in an Institute-sponsored event with students and professors from Gordon Institute of Business Science, a leading business school in Johannesburg, South Africa, as well as from Brandeis University International Business School. We view these institutions as important collaborators and partners that bring fresh perspectives and insights to our research. On any given day, the Institute is developing and publishing original research on topics such as analytics, global operating models of the future, high performance and the multi-polar world. The Institute has produced ground-breaking research resulting in several best-selling books including Competing on Analytics and Crucibles of Leadership, and our researchers contribute to journals and widely-read publications. Most importantly, the Institute’s research has enabled Accenture to develop unique and differentiated offerings, as well as foster new client relationships. As our clients look to Accenture for breakthrough, strategic thinking on their journey to high performance, we will continue to leverage our best thinking from across our global organization to help our clients turn insight into action…and deliver results.
