Accenture Global Convergence Forum 2009 | November 11-13, 2009, in New Delhi, India | | | | | | | Overview | | | Over its 21-year history, the Accenture Global Convergence Forum has gathered business and thought leaders to exchange views on the latest global challenges and opportunities in the converging marketplace. Recent forums in Beijing, Rome, and Miami have provided wonderful backdrops for productive dialogues on significant issues affecting global business. Now we come to New Delhi, the political and economic capital of the world’s most dynamic market.
Forum focus During periods of economic uncertainty and mounting business pressures, organizations can often overemphasize cost cutting and forego investing in innovation. But if innovation is the engine of growth, investment in new products and services is critical to remain competitive for the long term. Nowhere is the pressure to innovate more acute than in communications, high tech and media and entertainment industries, where the digital wave has redefined the market landscape. Unprecedented impact from new entrants and rapid decline of long-standing incumbents reminds us all of the importance of innovation in our industry. This year’s Accenture Global Convergence Forum comes to India—the new frontier on the global innovation stage. Key themes that we will examine include: - How do market leaders execute their innovation agenda in today’s environment?
- What are the breakthrough ideas and business models being cultivated in emerging markets?
- Which disruptive technologies are ready for prime time and which will fade away?
- How do organizations integrate their employees, customers and suppliers into their innovation agenda?
- What are the emerging business model innovations that can disrupt today’s marketplace?

| | | Taj Mahal | | | A Tour of the Taj Mahal Networking opportunity A cornerstone of the Accenture Global Convergence Forum is one-to-one networking between peers. To provide a dedicated opportunity for this interaction, the afternoon of the second day of the program is reserved for an exclusive trip to Agra by private train. Perhaps no place in India has a greater hold on the world’s imagination than Agra. The embodiment of the grand Mughal Era, Agra has drawn travelers from around the globe on journeys to the Taj Mahal since the 17th century. Often called the ultimate labor of love, the Taj was erected at the command of Emperor Shahjahan as the resting place for his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died in childbirth. The monument, which took more than 17 years and 20,000 laborers to complete, combines the emperor’s passions for architecture and jewelry. A masterpiece of symmetry, craftsmanship, and ornamentation, it is truly one of the wonders of the world. Next: Guest Program |
