 Steve Rohleder is group chief executive of Accenture’s Health & Public Service operating group, responsible for all of Accenture’s services globally to public-sector healthcare agencies, healthcare provider networks and healthcare payers, as well as services to government and public-sector entities in the defense, revenue, postal, human services, customs, border-management, public-safety and higher-education sectors.
Before being named to his current position in September 2009, Mr. Rohleder was, for five years, Accenture's chief operating officer. In that role he led all of the company's business and geographic operations globally and was responsible for executing Accenture's business strategy and ensuring operational excellence company-wide. Before becoming COO, Mr. Rohleder served as group chief executive of Accenture's global Public Service (formerly Government) operating group. Under his leadership, the Public Service operating group achieved double-digit annual revenue growth, due in part to innovative deal structures and offerings. From 2000 to 2003 Mr. Rohleder was managing partner of Accenture's Public Service operating group in the United States, and from 1997 to 2000 he served as managing partner of Accenture's U.S. Federal operating unit.
Mr. Rohleder often serves as an expert resource for journalists and government executives. He was honored as Industry Executive of the Year in 2006 by the PostNewsweek editorial staff of Government Computer News, a division of the Washington Post that focuses on government IT; was named one of the 25 Most Influential Consultants for 2004 by Consulting Magazine; and was named one of the top 100 business executives in the federal government by Federal Computer Week in 2000 and again in 2001.
Mr. Rohleder has testified frequently before various Congressional committees on such topics as homeland security, government reform and the need to create a Digital TechCorps. He has also served on several external committees and boards, including the Presidential Advisory Committee on Expanding Federal Training Opportunities, the National Association of Counties Homeland Security Task Force, and the Information Technology Association of America (ITAA) Systems Enterprise Solutions Board. He is a member of the McCombs School of Business Advisory Council at the University of Texas and president of the St. Michael’s Catholic Academy Board of Trustees in Austin, Texas. Mr. Rohleder joined Accenture in 1981 and became a partner in 1992. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Texas. |
