Our research and advocacy programs fall into three key areas: helping to set best practices and industry standards in corporate citizenship, conducting research into issues facing nonprofit organizations and internal measurement to ensure high performance from our own corporate citizenship programs.
Accenture is active in national and global organizations that promote and measure corporate citizenship programs and initiatives. We served as a founding sponsor for the Committee to Encourage Corporate Philanthropy's Corporate Giving Standard, a comprehensive online data collection, reporting and benchmarking system that serves as the definitive source for inter-company corporate philanthropy metrics in the United States. In 2006, Accenture released its first annual Executive Issues in Nonprofits study, leveraging the research capabilities of the Accenture High Performance Business initiative. The study recommends specific actions that nonprofits and their boards can take to improve their operations and address the internal and external challenges they face. To continually benchmark against other companies and strengthen our corporate citizenship programs, Accenture conducts a US Employee Volunteerism & Giving survey at the beginning of each calendar year. The study measures employees' awareness, participation and satisfaction related to our corporate citizenship initiatives the previous year. Findings from this survey are used to modify our employee-related programs to better serve our people's needs and improve program impact. Back to US Corporate Citizenship homepage |
