Fortune magazine awarded Accenture a spot on their 2009 100 Best Companies to Work For list—this is our inaugural appearance and we ranked No. 97. We are very proud of this recognition as this is a highly competitive and extremely prestigious award that spotlights the culture of the 100 "best workplaces" in the U.S.
In particular, Fortune cites that what makes Accenture great is that “Every employee of this consulting company is assigned a career counselor -- and he or she then has thousands of courses to choose from. Average training is 78 hours a year per person.”
Here are a few programs that distinguish Accenture: - Future Leave: Understanding that some of our employees may need to take time off to spend time on their personal priorities, we introduced Future Leave. Unlike PTO, the time off is unpaid, but it has advantages over a traditional leave of absence. Future Leave allows employees to take up to three months away from work with continued healthcare and insurance benefits and the assurance that they can return to work after their leave. - Backup Dependent Care: Locate care givers for your children, spouse or relative when regular arrangements won't work, with rates subsidized by Accenture. Each employee receives 40 hours of back up dependent care per year. Dependents include aging parents, children, spouses or domestic partners. Read more.
- Enhanced Flexible Work Arrangements: Accenture offers a flexible approach—giving options for how, and where, you do your work—as a means to achieve personal and professional balance. We also provide innovative communication and collaboration tools to help increase productivity, efficiency and flexibility. Read more.
- Accenture Development Partnerships provides strategic advice and technical and project management support to non-profit organizations, NGOs, foundations and donor organizations operating in the development sector, helping these organizations achieve their social and economic development goals. Accenture employee volunteers accept a cut in salary and serve on three to six month assignments, primarily in developing countries. Read more.
