Melanie Penna is Vice President of Human Resources at Comcast, the largest cable company in the United States. She also serves as the business liaison responsible for the implementation of the SAP Human Capital Management package, the company’s first integrated HR management system. In this capacity, Ms. Penna ensures that the project is aligned with Comcast’s HR transformation vision and works with key stakeholder groups to heighten user readiness for associated changes.
Prior to this role, Ms. Penna provided HR leadership and expertise in setting strategic direction and developing, communicating and administering policies and programs to support Comcast's then 80,000-plus employees throughout the country. During her career at Comcast, she has partnered with senior leadership to ensure that HR aligns with and supports Comcast’s business objectives. Before Comcast, she held positions at Allegheny Health, Education and Research Foundation and at Blue Cross of Western Pennsylvania. Bill Strahan is the Vice President of Compensation and Benefits at Comcast, the largest cable system operator in the United States. He also is the project sponsor for Comcast’s SAP Human Capital Management (HCM) Implementation Program—a key driver of Comcast’s overall HR Transformation.
The SAP HCM implementation is intended to enhance talent management, increase standardization and enable scalability for future growth. Mr. Strahan has been involved in various aspects of HR work for almost 25 years. Prior to joining Comcast, he led the Philadelphia office of Mercer HR Consulting. Mr. Strahan also practiced law in the area of compensation and benefits at Muldoon, Murphy & Faucette, primarily in the context of M&A and initial public offerings.
