Accenture has developed a “location-aware” demo application for social networking with blog features added to a map using NAVTEQ maps, the NAVTEQ MapTP® AJAX API (application programming interface), and the NAVTEQ MapTP Component Interface for Symbian S60. MapTP stands for Map Transfer Protocol. The application allows users to create blogs, and to show these blogs at the chosen position on the map via a mobile device or the Internet.
In collaboration with NAVTEQ Network for Developers™, Accenture designed and built the complete end-to-end demo service ahead of the timeline. The solution was designed and built both for devices based on the S60 platform for Symbian OS™ and desktop Web clients.
