We are delighted to announce that Accenture has recently extended our groundbreaking sponsorship deal with the National Theatre until September 2010. We look forward to further developing our partnership and positively contributing to the NT’s performance–on and off the stage. The relationship is unique in that it forms part of our Intelligent Funding sponsorship strategy–a package of resource and financial support that matches sponsorship fees with value-in-kind consulting, exploiting the company's strength in championing collaborative partnerships.
On stage, Accenture supports three plays each year from the NT's Studio, which is the theatre’s centre for research and experimentation. The studio offers support and development time to leading and emerging artists from across the UK, free from the pressure of public performance. In the last year, Accenture has been thrilled to support some fantastic productions that have been extensively developed in the Studio. These include The Hour We Knew Nothing of Each Other, Never so Good and the smash hit production of War Horse which has recently returned to the NT. This innovation is mirrored in Accenture's work backstage. The Accenture team has undertaken a website review and IT strategy overhaul, as well as developing exciting platforms for using state-of-the-art technology. These projects have led to a tangible change in the day-to-day operations of the theatre which benefits staff, actors and audiences. Of particular note is the creation of the Big Wall, an extremely large, touch-sensitive, interactive screen that uses advanced technology to take audiences into the world behind selected productions and is situated in the NT foyer. This is the first time this technology, developed in the Accenture Technology Labs, has been seen in the United Kingdom. Nicholas Hytner, director of the National Theatre, said: "This sponsorship is about far more than financial support alone. With Accenture's support we have been able to implement a number of innovations that have helped the National Theatre to broaden and deepen its appeal, particularly in enriching the audience's experience beyond what happens on our stages". Accenture also receives through the partnership a number of branding opportunities and access to exclusive events for clients and employees. Read more about the National Theatre (NT) |
