Our Vision for the Community: Building Skills for Better Futures The aim of our community engagement activities is to help break down social barriers in the United Kingdom and equip young people with the skills they need to succeed by enabling our employees to make a tangible impact in the community leveraging Accenture skills, experiences and assets. Our Community Investment Strategy We believe the future of our business depends on the health and stability of our wider communities. Our business strategies therefore include investment in, and partnership with, those communities. By contributing to the strength and stability of our communities we contribute to the current and future prosperity of our own business. Our community investment has skills at its core, with three areas of focus:
- EDUCATION
To equip those in danger of social exclusion with skills to improve their chances of integration into mainstream society.
- EMPLOYABILITY
Working with community partners to increase levels of employability and to support people in gaining or returning to sustainable employment by enhancing skills or capabilities.
- ENTERPRISE
To support our community partners and stakeholders to develop understanding and skills in entrepreneurship and sustainable enterprise – in schools, social enterprises and charities. We aim to promote skills development thereby helping to address the current skills shortage especially among youth and contribute towards long term, systemic change facilitating better futures for the communities in which we operate.

Engaging Our People Our people are our greatest asset and they are keen to contribute towards our better futures vision. We believe the key to maximising the impact of our community programmes is to let our people take ownership – we support and encourage them in their endeavours to contribute to the community and believe we can make the biggest difference in the community when our people do what they do best: share their expertise. Partnering with Our Communities Partnering with our communities is key to the success of our community programmes. We seek to define ways of working collaboratively with key community organisations who share our vision of a skilled and diverse society. To maximise the impact of our relationships we aim to invest both our time and money in relevant community projects. More details of our current grant recipients. Measuring Success Measuring the impact and success of our community programmes is essential to allow us to track our progress against targets and also to ensure we continue to do the right thing for our communities, our people and our business. We track all inputs and outputs and actively seek to define means of measuring the real and tangible difference our programmes are making to the community. Teach First An example of how Accenture as an employer seeks to improve education and employability and access outstanding talent is our membership of Teach First. The Teach First scheme allows graduates to spend two years working in an inner-city secondary school developing skills in a challenging environment. Graduates may then apply for the Accenture graduate training programme. As a supporter of Teach First Accenture has a direct and strategic influence over countless pupils' lives, whilst also improving the skills and experiences of a growing workforce of future leaders. Teach First, and its supporters, are making a real difference to London schools and their pupils by bringing more top-quality graduates into teaching. The scheme offers unrivalled opportunities for organisations to put their skills, experiences and resources into impacting education through a new generation of teachers. To Top
