The future of our organisation depends upon the health and stability of the wider communities in which we operate. Our business strategies therefore include investment in, and partnership with, those communities. The strategic aim of our community investment programmes is to promote sustainable livelihoods through skills development. By addressing skills or capacity shortages we can help to build better futures for all the communities in which we operate directly or indirectly. Our efforts to create better communities fall into two categories: Time and Skills

So we give employees the opportunity to contribute actively and have the greatest possible positive impact at a personal level by giving their time and skills. Guided by our community objectives, Accenture aims to promote positive social transformation through carefully targeted giving to community partners that share our vision of creating a sustainable, diverse and skilled society. To put this objective into effect, Accenture supports a number of organisations through financial grants, as well as facilitating tax-effective giving through our payroll schemes for our employees. We also encourage individual fundraising efforts for worthwhile causes by matching fundraising and allowing time off to organise or take part in such activities, and also maintain an employee nominated payroll giving charity scheme, Making a Difference.
