 As Managing Director of Accenture's United Kingdom and Ireland Resources group, Omar Abbosh’s role is to ensure the provision of services to energy and chemicals companies, utilities and natural resources organisations helping them through a time of unprecedented change in markets, products and services.
Abbosh has 18 years of experience in the energy and utility sectors, and has intimate knowledge of the Resources group's strategy, deep insight into our United Kingdom and Ireland client base as well as extensive experience in most elements of the utility value chain.
He joined Accenture in 1989 and has since specialised in developing corporate and business unit strategies and turning these into practical change initiatives. His previous roles include client partner at National Grid, our global industry managing director for Utilities and more recently, he has been our global managing director for growth and strategy, and Resources. In this role, he was responsible for the Resources work on transformational deals across its clients as well as for Strategy and Mergers & Acquisitions. He has also served on the Resources Leadership Team, the Global Leadership Council and the Accenture Global Energy Board. Abbosh read electronic engineering at Cambridge and completed an MBA at INSEAD in France. He enjoys good times spent with his wife and two boys and occasionally wandering off to climb a mountain or two.
