Living out our core values, Accenture continues to play a strong role as a good corporate citizenship. Many activities of Accenture in Thailand strongly reflect our goals of working toward raising levels of performance and sustainability in our communities. School Improvement project—Wat Tha Kham, Nakorn Pathom In looking to raise the quality of life of more than 200 students in rural areas, Accenture in Thailand contributed financially to the Wat Tha Kham Primary School in Nakorn Prathom. The project aims to improve the school conditions, facilities and environment such as the electricity supply, student canteen, toilets, playground and library.
Eco Challenge
Accenture has launched the first global employee environmental program, the Eco Challenge, to encourage all employees to create history with the greatest carbon footprint reductions corporately.
To promote Eco Challenge participation, Accenture in Thailand has organized a competition by awarding prizes to the top five employees who proactively participate in reducing carbon emission. The winners contributed their rewards to their environmental charity of choice such as Green World Foundation, The Mirror Foundation, Friends of the Asian Elephant, The Wild Animal Rescue Foundation of Thailand and Handicapped Animals Foundation. Mangrove Planting Accenture has a corporate social responsibility to reduce environmental impact. Accenture in Thailand encouraged employees to engage proactively in a mangrove planting project at Klong Pittayalongkorn School Bang Khun Thien District, Bangkok on Saturday, 7 March 2009.
School Building—Ban Tung Kae, Chiang Mai
Accenture is associated with the Royal Patronage in helping the Border Patrol Police Community. The Border Patrol Police guards a water reserve area that is a significant water source for Thailand. Accenture in Thailand has for three consecutive years built schools for their children. We built the first school, called Ban Rom Pho Thai, in Chiang Rai in fiscal year 2006. The second school was built at Sor Sor Chor Ban Mae Jum Sam, Chiang Mai in fiscal 2007. Again this year, we will build a school called “Ban Tung Kae” in Chiang Mai.
