- Codes of Good Practice Target: 25 percent black shareholding
- Current Accenture status: 30 percent black shareholding
Accenture, as a South African company and a global group, has found an innovative and remarkable way to share equity ownership with black South Africans. Using an "owner-operator" model with broad-based beneficiaries, the company has implemented black equity participation involving senior black employees and a black trust which has bought 30 percent of Accenture's South African operation. The company is committed to rectifying the disparity between black ownership and the composition of the South African population. The objectives of the Black Economic Empowerment transaction are to empower: - Senior black Accenture employees as trustees with the voting benefits of shareholding.
- Other black Accenture employees and broad-based external black beneficiaries with the economic benefits associated with the trust.
