 Accenture Singapore
moved into its new premises at Raffles City Tower on September 3, 2001. The new
office, equipped with the latest technology and functions, is helping Accenture
achieve its vision of being the Best Place To Work in many ways:
- More meeting and collaborative spaces. There are various
types of space to meet the dynamic working environment of
today.
- Full hotelling has been implemented for the office and all
Accenture staff need to reserve workstations. Partners no longer have
designated rooms. There are also many touch-down areas within the office where
one can have a cup of coffee and enjoy the view while getting some work
done.
- Service coordinators act as the single-point-of-contact for
everyone using the space. They ensure that the office is well-equipped and
functioning. They carry out tasks such as obtaining office supplies, delivering
faxes and copy jobs, refreshing work spaces, changing name tags and keeping the
copy and coffee rooms supplied and clean. They also help to set up AV
equipment.
- An Events Management System (EMS) has been implemented for
space reservation. EMS allows staff to locate their assigned workspace for the
day.
- An infra-red enabled security access card (Elpas card) which
facilitates entry and exit from the new workplace. The card also acts as a
locator, providing real-time positioning information on Accenture staff via the
Web. In addition, it forwards all calls to the location one is at, with just a
press of the card button.
Alternatively, Accenture staff can access web-enabled kiosks to locate
people in the office as there will no longer be a paging system. Other cool
technology includes:
- Full IP telephony implementation with features such as office
directory accessible via the phone;
- Data/voice convergence capability;
- Wired and wireless networks;
- Plasma display panels, projector screens, and flat LCD
screens for communication and
- Control capability for central broadcast to all meeting rooms
on level 33.
To accommodate the blurring of lines between work and play, the meeting
rooms on level 33 have been designed to convert to games and recreation spaces
after office hours.
