Since our publication in 2008, the world has been drawn into the severest economic downturn since the Second World War. As a result, all indices, including the AEX, have suffered badly. In the meanwhile we are seeing the first signs of economic recovery, also reflected in the indices. Questions come to mind: How well are AEX companies positioned to deal with the economic crisis? How much risk are they exposed to in the short term? Can they emerge as winners in the long term? And what can they learn from global high performers?
