The event, attended by over 150 senior delegates from across the public sector, was timed to coincide with the publication of An Bord Snip Nua’s report. Ger Daly, Accenture Public Service senior excecutive, presented on "Delivering Real Reform in the Longer Term" and Marian Corcoran, head of Accenture’s Management Consultancy group in Ireland chaired the conference and Q& A sessions.
A key feature of the event was the high-profile panel of speakers, comprising both those who have responsibility for driving forward the major reforms, and people with relevant expertise and experience to share. Other speakers included Seán Aylward, secretary general of the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform; John Tierney, city manager of Dublin City Council; and Pat McLoughlin, advisor for An Bord Snip Nua. With 11 speakers throughout the day, the conference covered a range of issues including sectoral views on health, local government and criminal justice; exploring the role of technology and shared services; and considering the challenges to government.
