Accenture shone yet again as the Knowledge Partner at the India Leadership Forum 2009, a global conclave that brought together the who's who of international business and technology, at Mumbai from February 11-13. This was the fourth year of Accenture’s association with the prestigious annual event which is organized by India's National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) and is dedicated to the IT and IT enabled services sector.
The theme of the Forum this year was “Reshaping the global economy,” a reflection of the churn that is currently taking place across nations and regions. For Accenture, this was a strategically significant event to make its presence felt, given the current economic scenario, and it did so quite admirably--on the dais as well as off it. Accenture’s prominent presence at the event, therefore, was a carefully orchestrated strategic business initiative, as it provided Accenture a good opportunity to position itself as a thought leader, share its point of view on pertinent industry issues and build credibility. The event saw over 1200 delegates converge from all over the world to listen to eminent personalities like C.K. Prahalad, Prof. Rosabeth Moss Kanter, Shashi Tharoor and John Chambers. Accenture speakers at the event included Kevin Campbell, Harsh Manglik, Dr. Robert J Thomas and Rekha Menon. They brilliantly advocated the Accenture points of view on issues such as CEO imperatives in a downturn, Business Process Outsourcing, leadership, talent management and corporate social responsibility. The Accenture speaker sessions were very well-attended and appreciated by the august audience for their topicality, depth and insight. For Accenture, it was three intense days of interaction...listening, participating and networking. The event saw the industry leaders share their views on the current financial crisis and when it may end, and the kind of opportunities it presents. Industry leaders, management gurus, politicians all sought to drive home the point that the current economic crisis is an opportunity for organizations to re-engineer their businesses and create new models of delivering products and services to their customers. Accenture's point of view in this regard was well taken. On a whole, the NASSCOM India Leadership Forum ’09 provided an excellent springboard to drive in our “Managing through Challenging Times” message, which is extremely relevant in the current economic scenario.
