VANCOUVER; March 1, 2007 — Accenture Business Services for Utilities received the British Columbia Contact Centre Association’s (BC CCA) Community Spirit Award for its commitment to enriching its community and the lives of its employees. “Accenture Business Services for Utilities is committed to the active involvement of its people in community support initiatives,” said Bill Morris, managing director for Accenture in Canada. “Accenture’s employees are provided with the opportunities to use their skills and capabilities in community-focused projects that enable them to make a difference.” Accenture Business Services for Utilities’ employees have volunteered and fundraised for many charities, including: Burnaby Camping Bureau, Burnaby Christmas Bureau, Rick Hansen Wheels in Motion, BC Children’s Hospital (Paddle for Kids), the Terry Fox Foundation, United Way, Alzheimer’s Association, CIBC Run for the Cure and the Canadian Blood Services (Partners for Life). “Accenture really does help make the world a better place by actively participating in a variety of volunteer activities that give their employees a sense of belonging and responsibility to each other,” said Jean Mitchell, president, BC CAA. “Accenture know what keeps a contact centre alive—recognizing active participation to enhance the community. We are very proud of our team.” Among the numerous goodwill activities that Accenture’s employees have been involved with in the community, are sending an underprivileged 12-year-old girl to Camp Potlatch, a residential camp on the north shore of Howe Sound. The camp offers canoeing, kayaking, row boating, swimming, fishing, ecology studies, arts and crafts and many more activities that provide children with a fun and educational experience.
