Accenture Selected to Build GTA Fare Card System

Accenture has been selected to build and operate the GTA Fare Card System (GTAFS) for public transit, which will be operated between Hamilton and Oshawa. It will head a team of industry leaders that will develop the necessary hardware and software to operate the GTAFS for 10 years. Accenture has global experience in systems integration and is supported by a strong team of subcontractors. Together, Accenture and its partners will bring the capabilities required to achieve a successful implementation of the GTAFS—on time and on budget. Accenture and Thales Transportation Systems, Accenture's primary partner in the GTAFS, have worked together on other fare card projects such as the Netherlands Translink Systems national fare card program and the Danish Travel Card program.

• Leading global supplier of transit equipment and software with over 25 projects implemented worldwide, including France, Denmark, India, Norway, and Hong Kong.
• Largest subcontractor for the GTA Fare Card System responsible for providing field-related equipment and software, as well components of the Central System software.

TELUS

• Leading Canadian telecommunications provider.
  
• Will provide data centre hosting and operations for the Central System and network services linking all equipment in the field to the data centre.
• Will provide backup and recovery site and processes.

Giesecke and Devrient (G&D)

• Leading global provider of banknote and securities printing, secure plastic cards and smart cards.
• Tasked with the production, initialization and distribution of fare cards.

IBI Group

• Over 25 years experience in consulting and engineering, including the successful implementation of integrated fare collection systems.
• Will provide implementation and transition services.
