  The strategic aim of our community investment programs is to promote sustainable livelihoods; we work to do this by providing support for education and skills development. By supporting children to remain in school and to develop skills, we can help to build better futures for all the communities in which we operate directly or indirectly. We also aim to support organisations that are seeking to prevent and cure life-threatening diseases, and those that aim to conserve our environment.
We support and encourage our employees to be involved in the communities in which they live and work, and aim to support their areas of concern in health, research and the environment. Accenture brings to its community work the very same principles of high performance that are applied to its work with clients. We believe that the most sustainable way of empowering our communities is by offering our core business skills to our corporate citizenship partners so they can continue strengthening their own organisational capabilities. Our efforts to create better communities fall into two categories: Giving Guided by our community objectives, Accenture aims to promote positive social transformation through carefully targeted giving to community partners that share our vision of creating a sustainable, diverse and skilled society. Accenture in Australia provides financial grants to selected not-for-profit organisations to support programs that meet our community objectives or to support fundraising activities to help them raise funds to enable them to deliver their programs. Australia’s giving program includes the provision of funds through Accent on Giving, our workplace-giving program, as well as matching of funds raised by our employees through our employee donation-matching scheme.
